Feminists have often written about how women face online harassment, cyber bullying, slut shaming and rape threats in online platforms. These allegations usually surface when the slut shamed woman is found to be guilty or wrong in a situation.
Online threats and harassment are not one sided. It happens both ways. Feminists also abuse and threaten others. There are many instances of feminists encouraging abuse and slut shaming of right wing women or FeMRAs, i.e. Female Men’s Rights Activists.
As feminists love to manipulate facts, it is sometimes important to keep some data and evidences on record. That will help expose false accusations of the culture of misogyny in online platforms.
Let’s take the case of #HiteshaChandranee vs Kamaraj, the Zomato delivery guy. Hitesha accused Kamaraj of punching her nose. Kamaraj pleaded his innocence and narrated his ordeal. This topic trended in twitter for several days and millions of people stood for Kamaraj and a fair investigation of the incident. A FIR was filed against Hitesha for attacking Kamaraj, wrongful restraint and for insulting him.
“A look at thousands of tweets between 12th March to 16th March, 2021 clearly establishes there was only one single tweet slut shaming Hitesha Chandranee on March 12th. No one retweeted or liked it.”
